Alassaf BBQ is a cozy Middle Eastern restaurant tucked away on Wyandotte Street East in Windsor, offering a straightforward but satisfying dining experience focused on grilled meats and classic regional flavors. The space itself is quite compact, with only a couple of tables, which suggests it’s a spot many people use for takeout or quick dine-in meals rather than leisurely gatherings.

The atmosphere is modest and utilitarian, more about the food than frills. This is a place where the kitchen’s focus on the charcoal-grilled aroma and spices takes center stage, rather than table settings or extensive décor. It tends to attract meat lovers who appreciate rich, intensely flavored dishes like the Beef Shish Kebab Combo — a generous enough portion designed to feed two that comes with rice and salad. You’ll also find comforting staples such as chicken drumsticks paired with traditional side dishes like hummus and fattoush, which balance the meat’s boldness with fresh, tangy notes.

Visitors mention the convenience and cleanliness of the restaurant, and while the space feels tight, it adds a no-nonsense vibe that suits a casual meal rather than a long sit-down. Service is efficient though described as reserved rather than overly warm, pointing to a place that focuses on hospitality through food quality rather than chatter. Those interested in trying small bites will appreciate the grilled kibbeh, often offered as a sample while waiting.

Alassaf BBQ works best for those craving well-seasoned Middle Eastern grilled dishes at reasonable prices, with options that fit both solo diners and small groups. People who enjoy savory, skewered meats and simple sides will find this spot a satisfying stop. Given the limited seating, it’s likely better suited for lunch or early dinner when you want a hearty meal without the fuss, or if you’re in the neighborhood looking for a quick, flavorful takeout option. The nearby community seems to appreciate the authentic tastes and fair pricing amid rising food costs, making it a practical choice for locals and visitors alike.

Very clean and tidy place with delicious food with various items on the menu that can suit multiple price ranges and appetites. We had a shawarma over rice dined in, it was modest proportion size for 2 people (it's meant for one) but delicious and satisfying.

I was blown away at how good this was. I got the chicken shawarma plate. The slight char on the chicken to the saffron season to the whatever that delicious sauce was they put on it, I enjoyed every last bit. We came over from the states and ate here. It was worth it. So so good!

My wife and I came in to check this place out and I am so happy we did. We ordered just the beef shish kabob combo to go. The staff was incredibly kind and brought my wife and I out a sample of their kibbeh as we waited. The food was amazing. The flavours are so rich and intense and we enjoyed every bite. The portion size leaves something to be desired but, the flavour alone was enough to give this dish 5 stars. I can’t wait to come back and try their other dishes and to introduce our friends and family to this place.

Traditional style shawarma but since I'm white I like lettuce and onions and stuff besides just pickle and garlic. Also not very friendly but I guess I'm not there to eat their personalities

At today’s inflation, this consider as not expensive in price, great in taste, tight space for dining in. Recommended for meat lovers! Great little family restaurant hide on the street. Lack of dining ware like cups, feels like a take out preferred restaurant(2tables in total)

One of the finest Syrian and specifically Aleppo cuisines you may find in all of this town. A family business that brings tradition and experience together to provide you with some of the most savory bites. From their charcoal grilled Shish Kabobs, Shish Tawook, Kafta to their hummus, salad or rice; this place provides an authentic experience and taste that you will not find elsewhere. Although it appears to be a small shack, it’s nothing short of a hidden gem that once you discover and try, you will never forget that exceptional taste that is left in your mouth. I suggest you sit there, and try their food fresh off the grill if possible rather than taking it to go, because that experience and that sizzling look and taste makes the food much more special.

First time in Windsor on a short visit, decided to check this place in the huge middle eastern, mediterranean food options in the area ..The food is excellent, Large portions, very tasty ... Favorites are Chicken and Beef kabob platter comes with flat bread, basmati rice, hummus, baba ganoush and fresh salad... Enough food for 2 people over 2 days ..... Well worth the 4 hour drive from Chicago!!!!! I will return!!!!
